Local vegetation includes an abundance of succulents, including agaves and yuccas, lechuguilla( a spine-tipped plant that typically grows on limestone hills), tarbrush, cresote brush, ocotillo and an impressive diversity of prickly pear and hedgehog cacti. Also there are several species of cactus and wildflowers, including lechuguilla, lace cactus, havard agave, and the waxy-coated candelilla. There is also an abundance of tiny bluebonnet plant emerging from the rocky soil, as well as hackberry, shinnery oak, persimmon, mountain laurel and white thorn acacia. Water is available on this property. No minerals are available. Local wildlife consists of white wing and mourning doves, bobwhite/blue/scaled quail, crows, vultures, owls, hawks, roadrunners and a diversity of sparrow and song bird doves. There are small mammals such as squirrel, rabbit, coyotes, hares or jack rabbits, raccoon and opossum. Larger mammals include Berber sheep, bobcat, wild turkey, collared peccary, as well as european boar, puma, mule tail deer, and black bear in the mountains. Electricity is available for the Tinajitas Ranch via the Federal Electricity Commission.
