New Bremen: New Bremen is a small country town with a population of 2,706 according to the 2010 census. It is just to the north of Lowville, the county seat, which is the location of the county courthouse, the county general hospital and the Lewis County Fair. It is also a commercial center with many small shops and restaurants as well as larger chains and a Walmart. In addition, Lowville is a manufacturing hub, housing a Kraft and bowling pin factory as well as several paper mills.
