Welcome to the Goose Down Lodge at Jacks Slough Hunting Club. Jacks Slough Hunting Club is an old established hunting club over 70 years with 26 exclusive memberships in Montgomery County Mississippion the Big Black River. There are approximately 1800+- acres owned that's paid for and 2400+- Acres leased by the club. There is a small amount of acreage in CRP (conservation reserve program) and they recently enrolled the owned acreage of the club into a carbon sequestration program. The payment from this goes directly into the club membership fund to do road improvements and maintenance on the properties. Deer, turkey, ducks, squirrels, hogs and fishing in the sloughs and river are the game of choice on this property. The owner of the Goose Down Lodge has been in this camp for nearly 30 years. He raised his sons here, teaching them to hunt and how to enjoy the great outdoors. Hunting here is enhanced by the river bottomland hardwoods and scenic views along the infamous Big Black River, one of the favorite hunting corridors in Mississippi. It is not unusual to see 30-40 deer each day, multiple bucks, with various ''legal bucks'' as set by the camp rules and guidelines. Duck hunting is not like that in the Delta regions of the state but mallards are occasionally prevalent and an abundance of wood ducks swarm the water areas of the property. Turkey love bottomland hardwood as well as the higher grounds of this property. Hogs roam throughout the property and members are encouraged to kill all they can. In recent years the squirrel population has increased drastically and squirrel hunting has become more popular here. This membership is one of 26 total memberships and buying this membership gives you exclusive 1/26th ownership into the acreage owned as well as the acreage leased. In addition, this membership comes with an 20 acre lease adjoining the lodge that he hunts exclusively. The 16'x80' mobile home is completely covered in a metal roof with a 12' deck on the front and 20' over the back of the place and extends 30' on one end the total width of the decks and the mobile home. It comes completely furnished except for a few sentimental pieces of furniture and decor. All the appliances including washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator, beds, and even a huge gun safe remain with the sale of this lodge. There is cable TV and community water as well as security cameras on the lodge.
