Several creeks in the area flow eastward toward the West Branch of the Escanaba River, and the Ford River lies just a few miles to the south. Most of these creeks and rivers are open for fly fishing and are wadable and provide some great Brook trout and Brown trout fishing. And fishing pressure is fairly light here. Take a left and continue straight (south) on South McClellan/M-553 South. Continue south 18+ miles to North Southgate Drive (Co Rd EL) in Gwinn and turn right. Continue straight to West Iron Street. Go ½ mile and turn left onto Iron Street. Turn right at first cross street onto M-35 N/W Iron Street. Turn left onto N Serenity Drive. Turn left onto S County Road 557. Continue onto County Road 557. Turn right onto County Road 426M.5 Road (toward Northland) to County Road SG. Take a right and go to the end of the pavement. Take a right and follow County Road SG to County Road SH Ross Grade. Turn right onto Ross Grade and drive about 1.3 Miles North to a small Red Sign that says Wells Twp 6051.
